Lewis R Shomer is the Chairman of Abilities Expo, the world’s leading exhibition and trade show for people with disabilities. Seniors, their caretakers and professional healthcare workers. At the 7 Abilities Expos held annually across North America, seniors, who represent approximately a quarter of attendees at Abilities expo, find products and services that enable them to be more independent.
Shomer brings to Unmukt not only the wealth of his experience with Abilities Expo but also a passion for empowering persons with diverse challenges to find solutions that will improve and enrich their quality of life. His latest involvement is with the development of A Passion for Dance, a documentary on dancers with disabilities as they share their experiences of overcoming challenges to continue their life’s passion. As a member of the NAACP Board of Trustees, the largest civil rights organization in the world, Shomer actively worked to increase awareness of another underserved community.
